Dear NEC candidate,
We at the Labour Women’s Network are committed to working together the equal representation of women in politics. Of the many tools the Labour Party has sought to use in the pursuit of gender equality – training, reserved places on shortlists, and more – all women shortlists are the only method that has been effective in increasing women’s representation at Westminster.
If you are elected to the NEC you will make a decision soon after the election about the party’s policy on All Women Shortlists (AWS). Will you commit to continuing to support AWS, at least until the parliamentary Labour Party reaches 50:50 gender parity?
