“I wouldn’t be here without LWN.

I remember the first time I thought about going into politics, I went on an LWN weekend residential and I was so ‘green’, I had no idea.

I remember sitting with Nan Sloane when she did a one to one and it was the first time I crystallised in my head how I could tell my story and the confidence that gave me. The network of colleagues I built then I have stuck with. The lessons I learned in LWN training were invaluable, such as building your team of people, working with unions and fundraising.

I gained those core skills but also the network who saw each other through our selections –was just as powerful. Whether we were selected or not, we are still in touch – the power of that network really builds you up when you need it most.”
