Last year's gala dinner, SOLD OUT in just 6 HOURS, so due to the popularity of our events, this year it is only open to LWN members, so act quickly to secure your ticket. And, for this year, you will only be able to buy one ticket for yourself, so please make sure you have organised with your LWN sisters!

We have a fabulous line-up of sisters to hear from on the night including the amazing Baroness Valerie Amos.

After decades of public service Valerie has seen it all, and is a true pioneer! 

Having been made a Life Peer in 1997, Valerie was the first black woman to sit in Cabinet, as the Secretary of State for International Development, then as a Peer, she then held a long tenure as Leader of the House of Lords. 

But her career was about to go global, as she was appointed Under Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs & Emergency relief at the UN, then High Commissioner to Australia, head of SOAS and Valerie is now Master of University College Oxford... she really has done it all… and if that wasn’t enough you may have seen her front and centre at the Coronation of Charles III, representing the Order of the Garter.

We can't wait to hear from Valerie in May, and more speakers will be announced soon!

As the only affiliated women’s organisation fighting for women’s equality in our Party, our true strength is our members and tireless work.  We are training women like never before - over the years we have trained thousands of diverse Labour women to change the culture of their local parties, stand for public office and be ready to lead, including a third of the current Women's Parliamentary Labour Party, half the women now in the Shadow Cabinet and 65% Labour women standing at the General Election (as of 27th Feb 24).  Our campaigning work has seen huge successes, including shorter, cheaper selections; better baby leave arrangements for councillors; and improved sexual harassment complaints processes. 

To do our work we need funds; to offer training bursaries to low income women we need funds; and to continue to be influential 'in-the-room' we need funds... So please dig deep!
