LWN graphicFrom a factory worker’s cottage in Somerset to the Cabinet table and the White House dining room - how did Margaret Bondfield do it?

We are thrilled to welcome Nan Sloane to Zoom to celebrate the launch of her new biography on “Margaret Bondfield: The Life and Times of Britain's First Female Cabinet Minister.”

Nan will share insights into Margaret’s remarkable life of activism, peace campaigning, and trade unionism – which all came with a good dollop of feminism.

Nan will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the process of capturing such a formidable legacy on paper, and the difficulties in uncovering new archive materials that give a more complete version of Margaret’s life.

We are also pleased that Nan will be interviewed by Kiran Mahil, LWN secretary and history buff!

Kiran has a genuine love for feminist history and its always a joy to get Nan and Kiran together to discuss women in our movement.

Register below to join us on Thursday 5th March at 8pm for this amazing event.

You are able to pre-order Nan’s book HERE and currently there is a pre-order discount.
