“One thing I love about LWN is the culture that it has created - you don't get caught up in the factional stuff, so it’s a welcoming space for all women, which I think is great.  

I went to LWN sessions on selections and then as a candidate after I’d been selected. These sessions were honest and really helpful. It also gave us those connections and networks which were important going into Parliament.

My advice to women considering standing for public office is to lean into it. I think too many of us worry about not being good enough, how am I going to fit politics in with all my other responsibilities and we question ourselves too much. Believe in yourself, get advice on the way, hold on to your friends who will support you and be truthful and finally, go for it.”
