Kate Dearden, Labour Women's Network Committee
Kate is Head of Research, Policy and External Relations at Community trade union and also leads on the union's political work.
She is interested in industrial policy and strategy, the future of work, skills, self-employment and the gig economy. She is also passionate about mental health campaigning and policy, as well as women's equality.
She previously served as Campaigns Officer for the Labour Party and as National Chair of Labour Students.
She is from Bradford where she first got involved in the Labour Party, and went to Edinburgh University where she worked in Holyrood and on the Better Together campaign. Kate also sits on Labour’s National Policy Forum as a union representative.
Kate was re-elected back on to LWN Committee in 2020
