Kate Dearden, Labour Women's Network Committee

Kate has been elected to LWN’s NEC since 2018. She is currently Head of Research, Policy and External Relations at Community trade union and leads on the union's political work. Whilst working at Community, she has led national campaigns on skills, mental health and fighting for sick pay and financial support for all workers during the pandemic.

Kate is also Trustee and Company Secretary of Unions21, and a trade union representative on Labour’s National Policy Forum.

She previously served as Campaigns Officer for the Labour Party and as National Chair of Labour Students. She has also worked in the Scottish Parliament and on numerous election campaigns.

Kate is from Bradford, West Yorkshire and lives in Shipley CLP.
